There are several clear differences between people who catch colds easily and those who don’t. While colds are a common illness that everyone experiences, people with high resistance (immunity) tend to catch them less often because their bodies can quickly eliminate the virus even if it enters their system.

People with strong immunity often prioritize a balanced diet, sufficient sleep, and moderate exercise. Exercise improves blood circulation and stimulates immune cell activity, which helps prevent infections. On the other hand, those with weakened immune systems are more prone to accumulating stress and fatigue, reducing their resistance to viruses. Common causes of weakened immunity include nutritional deficiencies, lack of sleep, and chronic stress. In particular, high levels of stress trigger the secretion of the hormone cortisol, which suppresses immune function.

Additionally, genetic factors play a role in how we resist colds. There are individual differences; some people are born with naturally strong immunity against respiratory viruses, making them less susceptible to catching colds.

People with weakened immune systems also tend to experience prolonged post-cold coughs (a condition where only the cough persists long after other symptoms have passed). Weak immunity delays the body’s defense against viruses and slows down the recovery process. As a result, inflammation and hypersensitivity in the airways persist, making it more likely for a cough to continue.

To build a body that is less susceptible to colds, it is important to maintain a regular lifestyle, eat a balanced diet, stay active, and manage stress to boost your immunity. In addition, basic hygiene habits are essential.
Let’s all work to prevent colds and protect our health by maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
